Eyes of the Magi - Kohl Eyeliner - Protection & Truth
This product contains 1ml of powder. Application tool not included.
This natural powder eye makeup is inspired by traditional recipes and methods that have been used throughout the world for thousands of years. This style of eyeliner is called kohl in Arabic cultures, or kajal in India. (The formulations, intentions, and applications across cultures are slightly different, but bear many similarities.)
Many of the kohl eyeliners that are made commercially now contain harmful ingredients, so I decided to make my own. The botanical ingredients are wrapped in organic cotton fluff, covered in mustard seed oil, and then burned. The soot from this flame is then gathered on a silver dish.
A little bit of this powder goes a long way! If you prefer a wet eyeliner, you may also add a very small drop of castor oil to this product and mix it in before application. Castor oil is also good for the lashes.
To apply this product, you may use your own clean makeup brush, or the end of a small smooth stick. (I use the end of a paintbrush.)
Each ingredient is selected for its contribution to eye and lash health, or for its energetic properties to instill the wearer with protection from the Evil Eye (this is one of the traditional uses of this makeup in many cultures), beauty, and True Sight.
