Brief History Lesson...
Blue Lotus is probably one of the most well-known entheogens of the modern spiritual world, though it's roots date back to ancient Kemet (Egypt). From what we can tell, this plant grew in the Nile river and is frequently depicted in art from the region, including many beautiful works that decorate the pyramid walls. It appears that this plant was revered as a sacrament for use in religious practices, meditation, and also incorporated into fertility festivals. It was also known by the Mayans, who called this flower quetzalaxochiacatl, "precious water flower".
Blue Lotus Benefits
Increased Intuition
There are numerous ways in which Blue Lotus increases our awareness of Self. In my opinion, the baseline of this function is its ability to unite the Will with the Higher Self. This mechanism is connected to the Third Eye chakra and our ability to use proper discernment within the construct of our 3D reality. What does that mean, really? -- It means that you get to hop over to the timeline where the voice of your Higher Self is calling all the shots.
And this energy doesn't just stop there. I find that it also increases the fluidity of a lot of things. (Yes, there is a sexy connotation to that, which we will touch on later.) In particular, I notice that my experience of synchronicities in my life increases, and that I seem to be able to quantum jump between different timelines with much more ease. I speculate that this is connected to the way Blue Lotus affects your brain waves, which is why it is also so helpful for meditation and accessing the sacred states that we utilize when in ritual or communing with the Divine.
So far, I have not been able to find any real studies on the effects of Blue Lotus has on brain waves, but if you know much about the mind, meditation, manifestation, or magick, you start to notice notice certain patterns. (If you're new to this subject, the book Becoming Supernatural by Dr Joe Dispenza is a great place to start).
Body Balance
What I personally find to be most impressive about this plant medicine on a physical level, is its ability to balance most of the body's internal rhythms and operations with its adaptogenic properties, which led many cultures to regard this plant as a "cure all" treatment. In particular, it seems to balance endocrine secretions and liver function. This can be incredibly beneficial for all aspects of health, because - in herbalism - most treatments start with cleansing and regulating the liver. In this way, ingesting Blue Lotus regularly can help to pave the way for better physical and mental health all around.
Some studies have also connected Blue Lotus to a decrease in feelings of anxiety, depression, and general stress.
Sacred Sexuality
Okay, back to fluidity -- Blue Lotus is a very potent aphrodisiac. (Especially the way I extract mine. Not to toot my own horn, but none of the other Blue Lotus extracts or tinctures that I've tried can compare, especially in this department.)
I highly recommend working with Blue Lotus if you've ever experienced issues with libido, connection, intimacy, or feeling pleasure. She will help you to get back in touch with your own body, your juiciness, and help you surrender to connection and intimacy in very healing ways. Blue Lotus can help us connect with our partner and our own bodies the same way she helps us connect with the Divine. It's all the same anyway, isn't it?
Dreams
Blue Lotus seems to possess the remarkable ability to connect us further with our dream world. She can do this by increasing dream continuity and duration, helping us to recall our dreams with better clarity, and also facilitate the states necessary to experience lucid dreaming.
What makes this tincture different?
There are a lot of different ways to commune with this plant. Some of the most popular are smoking the petals or drinking the whole flower in a tea. However, I find that when consumed in those ways, I get more of the alkaloids that are responsible for feelings of sedation. This can be ideal for people who want to use Blue Lotus in the evening time for prophetic or lucid dream states.
Personally, I would rather not feel sedated when I ingest this plant, and I find that taking tinctures or extracts seem to provide a spectrum of active alkaloids that don't make me feel so sleepy. (This is because different alkaloids like to bind to different menstruums, and some are destroyed at different temperatures, etc.)
My tincture accesses parts of the plant that I haven't experienced from any other Blue Lotus product or extract that I've tried over the past several years of working with it. It is thick and juicy, and you will see exactly how special it is once you try it. Shop for Blue Lotus here!
